The Direction of Our Lives

sobremesa charitable foundation nonprofit work abroad with donations from patrons of the Sobremesa Farm Kitchen fine dining restaurant in northwest arkansas

When we allow God to be in control, we allow for miracles to happen. Jesus wants to change our hearts and souls and change the direction of our paths, to reveal his glory and to cultivate belief and faith. Miracles look different to different people.

A young hindi-untouchable woman living in Titigraph, Kolkata, India, who recently lost her husband and her family's means of income is lost and confused on what to do.  Scared and afraid she is seen by God and she is invited to attend a Chrisitan tailoring school; she goes because she doesn't know what else to do. There she is introduced to the Bible and Jesus.  She feels the love and God's presence and during the 6 month program she becomes a Crhistian and gives her life to God. The direction in her life changed; she let God be in control and God's miracles were seen.

An All American College athlete, who has put sports first and God last feels empty, like something is missing; this child of God is lost and confused. They feel like they have no direction and are willing to end their own life because outside sports there isn't anything else.  Then, God opens their eyes and they see a teammate praying before and after every game; they also notice how loving the teammate is. The athlete inquires and slowly learns and has God re-enter their lives. The athlete begins to surrender and they start to see life differently and their life is saved.

We all have battles and struggles but when we surrender them to God and allow Jesus to change us, miracles happen and our direction in our lives changes forever.

May 6, the direction of 16 women's lives were forever changed. Through all your generous donations to Sobremesa Charitable Foundation, Sharon's Tailoring school was able to graduate 16 young women and was also able to purchase each graduate a treadle sewing machine.
