Gratitude
We should all have gratitude. This may change at various points in our life as our lives ebb and flow. Nonetheless, gratitude turns what we have into enough. Gratitude, according to Webster’s Dictionary, is: the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.
God encourages us through 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
There are days that I forget to thank God for everything I have and for all he has done for me and my family. Luckily during those gratitude droughts he sends me healthy reminders to thank him. If we trust God in all that we do; give him thanks at all times, we are able to see his blessings big and small. With a grateful heart we see with God's eyes, hear with his ears, and feel with his heart. The attitude of gratitude blesses those all around us.
Ragu, he has the attitude of gratitude. He's taking what we financially send and, not only does he turn it into enough for the programs and pastors he supports, he's always able to find just enough to help someone new.
This past weekend, while we had a successful and amazing Pizza Night at Sobremesa Farm Kitchen, Ragu was reaching a new population of people, who don't know Christ. Ragu wrote this to me:
"Aunty we have started a slum ministry also. Today we had inauguration prayer. We distributed books and notebooks and stationary to these poor children. There are some 23 families. They have no electricity facilities, no water facilities, no house. They are staying in a tent for more than 20 years. The children go begging and rug picking. Jesus Mission has taken the initiative prayerfully. We have started free coaching to these children."
Ragu turned what he has been given into enough; to reach even more; to spread God's Love.
When was the last time you slowed down enough to see and to hear God's blessings, even the very small. When was the last time you thanked God for everything that you have and for all that you have been through.
Gratitude changes your perspective in life. It takes what we have, however little, and turns it into enough.
Let us all be forever grateful in all circumstances.
