Letting Go

The only permanent thing in life is impermanence. We get so wrapped up in "life," with "stuff," and constantly "going" that we lose sight of the fact that nothing is truly ours. Our thoughts are even impermanent, fleeting in and out; even our daily breath we breathe is impermanent.  We can lose everything in a quick second. Everything we have isn't really ours, even our bodies.

Look at it as though we are "renting" space here on earth; our houses, our cars, our "things" that we have over-worked ourselves for are not permanent fixtures and can be lost at God's will at any point.

After this holiday season, as many of us over indulge in materialistic things, let us remember that nothing in life is permanent, not even our health. What is important? Letting go of the thought that we own these things, deeply expecting everything changes and that nothing is truly ours.  When we cling to the illusion of permanence, it creates an unknown suffering that terrifies us all of what impermanence represents.

In the book of Matthew it is written in 6:19-21, " Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal.  But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

Nothing on this earth is permanent.

As we recognize that nothing is truly ours, we can start blessing others with the basic needs to survive.

Through hard work, and prayer, and God's will - we are working with Jesus Mission in India to open up our Third tailoring school for women in Rourkela. This is all possible because attendees of our dinner parties and pizza nights give generously and are willing to surrender just a little of what they have to make life better for someone else. To give a woman the ability to survive and to know about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. That blessing is us working towards those treasures in heaven.

Nothing on this earth is permanent. Why not surrender a little and let God Bless you in that moment.

In November one of the tailoring schools graduated 20 women. In the upcoming month of January we will graduate 17 more at the other school. That is 37 lives that are changed forever and the lives of generations to follow.  That my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, that is God working through all of us and is a true piece of heaven on this earth.
