God Works in All Things
God works in all things. Sometimes we don't understand his plans but we have to trust him and have faith. "But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold." Job 23:10.
This week has been a hard week. One that we have tried to understand but can't. Ty has been diagnosed with Alpha Gal Syndrome. For those who don't know what that is; Alpha Gal Syndrome or AGS is a tick borne illness that produces an allergic reaction to a sugar that is produced by mammals. This means Ty can no longer have anything that contains something from a mammal; from the obvious of pork chops and steak to the less obvious of toothpaste and medications. Most items have to be eliminated and must be replaced with something without mammal. AGS patients at times can also have reactions to the aerosols produced when meat is being cooked.
This is changing our lives, in many ways, but we know that God's presence is here and because of this he will open up doors we never thought of.
Due to the severity of this allergy Sobremesa Farm Kitchen has to reset. We will be closing our kitchen and our table starting August 1. All dinner parties/ pizza nights for the rest of the year are being canceled. During this time Ty and I will be working on new recipes and adapting to our new Life. Luckily AGS still allows for any bird or fish/seafood product.
At the first of the year we will be opening our table backup but with a makeover. All our meals after January 1 will be AGS friendly; there will be no mammal products involved. We also are only going to be seating 10 guests. Anyone can eat an AGS friendly meal but it will allow people with AGS to enjoy a restaurant quality meal without cross contamination.
If you know someone with Alpha Gal Syndrome please let them know this. We pray that this door that is opening for us can bless those who have longed for sobremesa but couldn't have it.
If you would still like to support sobremesa Charitable Foundation during the next several months you can find the donate button at the top of the screen or you can contact us personally.
We appreciate your understanding and patience with this new venture.
